Lynda Wojack

Occupational/Physical Therapy Technician

What is your role at Community Hospital’s Fitness Pointe?
I am an OP/PT Tech at Fitness Pointe Physical Therapy Services.

What was your inspiration for getting into healthcare?
I always knew I wanted to pursue some sort of career in healthcare to be a part of making a difference in the lives of others whether it be big or small. Being in healthcare allows me to actively be a part of patients’ care.

What is a typical day like for you?
My daily work environment is always changing and varies from day to day. On an average day our clinic may see anywhere from 150 to 200 patients. We are a very busy outpatient clinic. Most of our patients are orthopedic/surgical patients who are being treated for knee and hip replacements, shoulder/back surgeries, ankle issues, along with patients needing occupational therapy. I assist patients under the direction of our physical therapists to and from the treatment areas throughout the day. That includes manual exercises while ensuring patients are safe throughout their session. I instruct, motivate and safeguard our patients’ care while setting up modalities, such as electrostimulation, thermotherapy and cryotherapy, based on the individual needs of our patients. Also, my commitment to a safe, clean and organized clinic is one of my top priorities, along with patient care.

How long have you been employed here?
I have been with Community Hospital since 1986. I have held three positions within the hospital, and I currently have been at Fitness Pointe Physical Therapy for 10 years.

What are some of your interests outside of work?
I like music, trivia, reading and traveling. And I'm also a huge movie buff. I enjoy spending most of my free time with my two grandchildren doing sleepovers, movie nights and attending their sporting events.

What is your favorite local gem?
I'm a big Starbucks fan! I enjoy going to the local movie theaters and using the local parks. I like being close to the city of Chicago and all it has to offer.

What do you enjoy most about working at Community Healthcare System?
It's like being part of a team sport. We all work together as a team to provide excellent care to our patients. I work with highly skilled therapists and a very attentive office staff along with a great team of techs. I consider my co-workers like a second family. Our staff and myself at Fitness Pointe truly care about our patients, whether they are the first or last of the day. I'm proud to be a part of Community Healthcare System.
