RUDI: Reducing Undiagnosed Diabetes Initiative
Prediabetes is a condition when glucose levels in the blood are increased, but not enough to be diabetes. Often times prediabetes does not have any symptoms and can only be detected with a blood test. It is estimated that 38% of US Americans have prediabetes and 90% don’t know it (CDC, 2024). Find out if you are one of the many. Schedule a RUDI screening today.
Reducing Undiagnosed Diabetes Initiative (RUDI) is a screening for those at risk. Participants must not have had a previous diagnosis of prediabetes or diabetes and not screened in the last year via an A1C. This program will screen individuals to determine risk score. For those scoring high risk, a fingerstick A1C will be offered. A Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist Nurse will then help refer into educational opportunities and provider follow up.Program is made possible from a grant from the Porter County Health Department.
Registration is not required.
