Unite & Fight Cancer Walk and 5K Run steps off October 2

MUNSTER - Dust off your running shoes! After a two-year hiatus, the 17th annual Unite & Fight Cancer Walk and 5K Run is making a return this fall.

Registration begins Noon Sunday, October 2 at Munster High School’s John E. Friend Athletic Complex, 8808 Columbia Ave.

Hundreds of cancer patients and survivors, their loved ones and supporters turn out for the family-friendly event. Participants may choose from a 1-mile or 2.5-mile walk through Community Park or a 3.1-mile/5K run for those wanting to pick up the pace. Children will enjoy a 100-yard dash and face painting by professional makeup artists. The rally also features vendors, a tribute to survivors and a picnic – all for a great cause!

The Unite & Fight Cancer Walk and 5K Run is a fundraiser for the Cancer Resource Centre. A not-for-profit program of the Community Cancer Research Foundation, the Cancer Resource Centre offers free classes, mind-body-spirit programs, support groups and clinical trial resources for cancer patients at locations throughout Northwest Indiana, including patients receiving medical treatment outside Community Healthcare System.
